  • About Mégisserie Jullien

The origins of Jullien’s tannery can be traced back to the 1920s when founder Alfred Jullien began the process of transforming goat hides through tanning. Today, Jullien is a renowned supplier of leather for leading brands.

Their technical expertise in leather for bookbinding has earned them a respected reputation in the publishing industry. In fact, Jullien supplies the prestigious Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF), among others.

Jullien's Breteuil finish, famous for its grained and satin effect, has also allowed the company to expand into the small leather goods market, with over a hundred colors available. Jullien’s reputation has earned recognition throughout France and Europe.

In May 2020, Hcp (Hermès Cuirs Précieux) Group acquired 100% of Mégisserie Jullien.

These are not considered defects but rather unique features that add to the beauty and authenticity of the product. Please understand that we cannot guarantee that the leather will be completely flawless or uniform in appearance, as this is a natural occurrence that is beyond our control. some hides have a more narrow clean centre area than others.

Leather production may result in varying shades of colour for each batch. While the tanneries make an effort to maintain a strict tolerance, there may be slight variations.

We can not control the range of sizes we receive. The average size is around 0.55 sqm (5.9 sqft).
