Jo Heard is a leather artisan known for her expertise in traditional craftsmanship, sharing her knowledge through her YouTube channel and leathercraft patterns. Her work focuses on creating high-quality, functional pieces while inspiring and educating fellow makers.

With over 15 years of experience in the leathercraft industry, Jo Heard is a highly skilled Master Saddler and Leather Artisan. Her journey began in 2008 when she trained traditionally as a saddler through the Cordwainers Diploma at Capel Manor College. She further honed her expertise through the Modern and Millennium Apprenticeship Scheme, run by City & Guilds and the prestigious Society of Master Saddlers. Since 2013, Jo has been a proud member of the Society of Master Saddlers, a mark of excellence that ensures every piece she crafts meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.

At J.H. Leather, Jo offers a stunning collection of handcrafted leather goods, as well as bespoke commissions for those looking for something truly unique. Beyond her craftsmanship, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others. She runs one-on-one leathercraft workshops at her studio in Powys, Wales, along with online training sessions for students worldwide.

Jo is also widely recognised for her educational contributions to the leathercraft community through her successful YouTube channel. There, she shares free tutorials, in-depth instructional videos, and make-along guides that accompany her popular pattern packs, helping both beginners and seasoned crafters refine their skills.

Beyond leatherwork, Jo has a deep love for the outdoors and wildlife photography.
