Purchase at your own risk during the winter as the glue may freeze. It cannot be used if frozen.
Ecosar 16 Più is a Polyurethane (PU) water-based adhesives with cold reactivation, recommended brush or spray application.
Ecosar 16 PIÙ is a not yellowing adhesive, ready to use, particularly suitable in leather industry for bonding and folding of natural, greasy and synthetic leathers with synthetic lining and many other materials. Ecosar 16 PIÙ bonds carton, reclaimed leather, PVC too. It has a very good initial bonding and a very good heat resistance.
The 150 ml HDPE bottle has a wide mouth, it is easy to dip directly with a Glue Applicator (can be purchased here).
Ecosar 116 AD NG is a Polychloroprene water-based adhesive, recommended brush application only.
The main difference between a polychloroprene water-based adhesive and a polyurethane (PU) water-based adhesive comes down to their chemical base, performance characteristics, and ideal applications.
For international orders, there might be extra shipping charges for 1kg and 10kg depending on your total order values and weight.
ECOSAR 16 PIÙ Series Water Based Adhesive For Leather and Fabrics
Benefit of Water-based Adhesive
-
Environmentally friendly: Water-based adhesives emit fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs) than solvent-based adhesives. They do not release harmful fumes or odors, making them safer to use.
-
Easy to clean up: Water-based adhesives can be cleaned up easily with water, whereas solvent-based adhesives require solvents for cleanup. This makes them more convenient to use and reduces the amount of waste generated.
-
Better for leather: Water-based adhesives do not discolor or damage leather like solvent-based adhesives do. They also provide a stronger bond and greater flexibility, which is important for leather goods that are subject to stress or movement.
-
Longer shelf life: Water-based adhesives have a longer shelf life than solvent-based adhesives because they do not evaporate or dry out as quickly. This reduces waste and makes them more cost-effective over time.

Technical Data
Charateristics
- Appearance: white liquid
- Dry content: approx. 50%
- Specific weight: 1.05
Application
- ECOSAR 16 PIU’ can be applied by spraying-gun, brush and roll machine. For cold working process, if it is applied only on one side (usually the less absorbent) you have to immediately bond both sides and press. If applied on both sides it is necessary to couple within 1 hour from drying and press. Anyway it is possible to reactivate the adhesive ato 60°C, then bond and press.
- it is suggested to use the adhesive at temperatures not lower than 18°; in case the material is stocked in cold ambients, recondition before using.
- Stir well before use. Avoid frost. Keep the packaging tightly sealed.
Storage
Kept away from direct heat and cold and at standard storage conditions (minimum temperature 4°C to maximum 40°C).
Polychloroprene VS Polyurethane (PU)
Polychloroprene and PU (Polyurethane) water-based adhesives are both commonly used in the leather goods industry, but they differ in their composition and properties.
Composition:
- Polychloroprene adhesive: It is based on a synthetic rubber known as polychloroprene. This type of adhesive offers excellent bonding strength and flexibility.
- PU adhesive: It is based on polyurethane, which is a versatile polymer. PU adhesives provide good bonding properties and can be formulated to achieve specific performance characteristics.
Bonding Strength:
- Polychloroprene adhesive: It offers strong initial tack and good bond strength. It is often used for applications that require high bond strength and durability.
- PU adhesive: It also provides good bonding strength, although it may vary depending on the specific formulation. PU adhesives can be designed for various bonding requirements.
Flexibility:
- Polychloroprene adhesive: It exhibits good flexibility, allowing it to withstand movement and stretching without compromising the bond.
- PU adhesive: PU adhesives offer flexibility as well, but the level of flexibility can be adjusted based on the formulation and desired application.
Water Resistance:
- Polychloroprene adhesive: It generally provides good water resistance, making it suitable for leather goods that may be exposed to moisture.
- PU adhesive: PU adhesives can vary in their water resistance properties depending on the formulation. Some PU adhesives offer excellent water resistance, while others may require additional measures for moisture protection.
