The Tachikawa G Nib is a highly responsive drawing nib designed for artists who want bold, expressive line variation. It is capable of producing some of the widest and heaviest strokes among traditional manga nibs, while still allowing fine lines through careful control of pressure and nib angle.

Its flexibility makes it particularly suited to dynamic character work and expressive inking, where noticeable changes between thick and thin strokes are part of the drawing style. Because the nib reacts readily to changes in pressure, it can feel more sensitive in use and may take a little practice to control consistently. Once mastered, however, the Tachikawa G Nib handles strong, broad lines with ease while giving the artist plenty of freedom to vary line weight.

  • Manga and comic characters

About Line Variation

“Line variation” refers to the ability to create different stroke widths by adjusting pen pressure and nib angle. Lighter pressure produces a finer line, while increased pressure opens the nib to create a broader stroke.

The suggested applications are intended as a guide only. Artists may prefer to use the Tachikawa G Nib differently depending on their individual drawing technique and style.
